Tree of life – Ayurvedic relaxation in the middle of Omotesando

Omotesando is not all about the hustle and bustle and big crowds. It’s also about the healing power of nature, brought to us by a wonderful shop called ‘Tree of life’ (生活の木, Seikatsu no ki).Tree of lifeIn fact, ‘Tree of life’ is much more than a shop. It is a huge corporation with Ayurvedic shops, aroma therapy and massage salons all over Japan. Tree of life

In Omotesando there is a flagship store of ‘Tree of life’ which was opened in 1955 and rebranded in 2004.

The entrance of ‘Tree of life’ lures customers with heavenly smells coming from aromatherapy essential oil diffuser.Tree of lifeAs you walk further, you will walk past natural cosmetics, herb cordials, manuka honey, goods for pregnancy, and enter my favorite part of the store with herbs.Tree of lifeTree of lifeDried lavender bunches, scales, old books, and big glass jars with medical herbs create an almost surreal atmosphere of a Medieval Apothecary. Ayurvedic meditation music relaxes the body and calms the nerves.Tree of lifeTree of lifeThe store offers a great selection of items for presents and for home use. The staff does not speak English, but if you speak Japanese, they will consult you with great pleasure.Tree of lifeAnd you can always sample some teas and cordials at ‘Tree of life’. This time I’ve bought several herb petal potions.Tree of lifeThey also have a Herbal life college, Ayurveda massage salon, and often have workshops on the second floor. Tree of life
