Peaceful teatime at cafeteria «Sea Wind», Tokyo Sea Life Park

I prefer to spend rainy days in the soothing comfort of my Japanese apartment. But a promise had been made and a trip to Kasai Rinkai Aquarium (AKA Tokyo Sea Life Park) had already been planned, so I took my favorite flowery umbrella and enjoyed a great day out. Well, almost great and almost out.

This cafeteria became our shelter and restored the depleted sugar levels in our practically powerless bodies. It not a French café and they typically serve only two kinds of simple cakes, but the cake set is cheap (around 500 yen) and they provide a big pot of tea. The selection of set drinks is ample.

You can’t see much from inside but you can relish the wonderful view of Tokyo Bay while eating on the terrace.IMG_1916__1441961134_16558

After a short break you can continue wandering around the premises of the Aquarium without fear of collapsing in front of the giant blue fin tuna during his lunchtime.

You can also opt for something more substantial, like seafood curry rice, a hamburger set or soba noodles.
