The eternal romance with Sailor Moon

You may agree or disagree, but for me the best Sailor Moon is the one from the 90s. The very first opening song from the original anime keeps playing in my mind whenever someone says «Sailor Moon», «Usagi Tsukino», «Silver Crystal» etc. I guess the main reason is that I’m not really up-to-date with the modern culture. Call me old-fashioned, but I actually like all-time girls anime classics like Candy-Candy, Lulu, The Flower Angel (well, Lulu is not my number 1 priority) and Glass Mask. The remakes from 2000s just don’t make my heart beat faster. The nostalgic drawings and the feeling of good old times create an unforgettable ambiance.

It doesn’t mean I don’t watch re-releases or new adaptations like «Sailor Moon Crystal». I love the modern-looking characters too! By the way, did you realize that Sailor Moon’s 20th anniversary is ongoing since 2012, and technically it is already 23 years since the first episode?

Just looking at these various merchandise with Neo-Queen Serenity and Small Lady at IT’SDEMO makes my heart melt, my eyes go all heart-shaped and my mouth waters! Their iconic hairstyle never changes and is so great!

When I was a teenager, I never dreamt that I would feast my eyes on all of these things, let alone be able to buy them (OK, only some of them). I remember having a single notebook with Usagi and Mamoru, but the drawing was strange. Now that I can buy so many Sailor Moon goods made in Japan, I wish I had a time machine to go back in time to give a super cool present to the younger version of me.
