Pumpkin mania at Disney Store

It’s pumpkin season! Fall is officially here now and so are pumpkins. Unfortunately, traditional Japanese pumpkins are green. Actually, these kabocha are an Asian variety of winter squash. Although Jack-o-Lanterns can be seen at many stores and shopping malls from early September, they are usually plastic, ceramic, papier-mâché or plush. Of course it does not mean that they are less attractive. I think that all kinds of pumpkin are awesome!

The Disney Store in Odaiba is also heavily decorated with pumpkins.pumpkin

Teddy bears are dressed up for Halloween. I was looking for some information about UniBEARsity, and although I could hardly find anything in English, guess what? I found yet another Japan-only Mickey Mouse series with teddy bears. This pretty pumpkin bear is called Whip and he was made by Donald Duck. pumpkinFullSizeRender__12___1443096457_96636Even Chip and Dale are wearing pumpkin outfits.pumpkin

Mickey and Minnie apparently turn into cute little vampires. Or are they just dressing up? pumpkinThere are many Disney Stores around Tokyo, but this one is my favorite. It has lots of permanent pumpkin decorations as well as seasonal ones.pumpkinFullSizeRender__10___1443096423_58977
