La Fee Delice: Crêpes and galettes in a rustic French cafe

La Fee Delice is hidden in one of the backstreets of Omotesando. Several years ago it neighboured the shoe shop Think! on the corner of Cat Street. Then it moved slightly further down the street. Judging by the photos before and after, I think they moved so that it became possible to have a terrace (and more tables).La Fee DeliceLa Fee Delice

La Fee Delice defines itself as a crêperie restaurant. It specialises in traditional crêpes and buckwheat galettes from the Brittany region of France (Bretagne in French).

Our waiter was French, but he could communicate in both Japanese and English. He was tall, cute, and very popular with female customers.

My friend and I both had a sweet crêpe with butterscotch sauce.

All sweet crêpes are served with a scoop of ice-cream and whipped cream. It tasted very good. Expensive, if you ask me, but worth every yen.

La Fee DeliceTo be precise, galettes originate from Upper Brittany, and crêpes from Lower Brittany. Both are usually complemented with apple cider there, but it wasn’t mentioned on the menu (maybe it should be?). Anyway, my friend decided to take a set with tea, so I didn’t try the cider either. Maybe if I did, I would have felt myself completely immersed in Parisian ambience. Maybe next time.

La Fee Delice

La Fee Delice was opened in 2000, and it hasn’t seen much maintenance since it moved to the current location. It sure looks rustic, sometimes even too much. You can encounter a spider’s web in unexpected places! Some things are obviously deteriorating.La Fee DeliceLa Fee Delice
