Kū: Seasonal Vegetable Buffet in Takeo

Surrounded by rich nature and blessed with its hot springs, Takeo attracts visitors from far and near.
One of the great places to eat in Takeo is a buffet restaurant called Ku. This style of dining is called ‘tabehodai’ and for a set period of time, you can eat as much as you like.

It offers a variety of healthy Japanese dishes with a focus on local seasonal vegetables.

The menu is varied according to the vegetables that are in season. This board shows which vegetables are being used and explains their health benefits.

They also offer a range of desserts.

This jelly is made from the herb, lemon grass, which has been grown locally in Takeo. A light dessert which is perfect after a large buffet meal.

You can also help yourself to some Ureshino tea. The neighbouring town of Ureshino is famous for its hot springs and also for its tea.

Normally, tabehodai restaurants charge one set fee for a set time but in this restaurant you can choose from three different courses during the week and two courses at the weekend. 30 minutes for 850 yen (only on weekdays), 60 minutes for 1000 yen and 90 minutes for 1200 yen. Whether you are looking for a quick but healthy lunch or a more leisurely healthy meal, this is the perfect restaurant for you.
