Cinnamoroll – A super popular flying puppy toy

A tiny white animal-like toy with long ears is staring at me. Is it a rabbit with blue eyes, or is it a white elephant?

In actual fact it’s a puppy called Cinnamoroll. What kind of name is that I wonder? I love to eat cinnamon rolls with my coffee, but this seems way too much. Even if the dog’s tail looks like a roll, it doesn’t seem like a good reason to call him that!FullSizeRender__4___1442292348_87796

On second thoughts though, it is kind of cute.

Cinnamoroll can also fly. How awesome is that?! Believe it or not, but he is almost as popular as Hello Kitty in Japan.FullSizeRender__5___1442292573_39025

In 2001 Sanrio named its new creation Baby Cinnamon, but later renamed him, so sometimes both names are used. I think that Cinnamon is a bit easier to pronounce.FullSizeRender__2___1442292441_90049__1442292701_66497

When you read stories about Cinnamoroll and find out his friends’ names, it becomes even more weirdly cute. His friends are Chiffon, Milk, Espresso, Cappuccino, Mocha, Coco etc. Cinnamoroll and his friends became stars of video games and manga. The character became so popular that there is even a spin-off called Cinnamoangels.

These cute Cinnamoroll goods are sold at Sanrio Vivitix in Ikebukuro.FullSizeRender__7___1442292101_87963
