Christmas illuminations that stay until Valentine’s Day

Missed the illuminations during the winter holiday season? Not all Christmas illuminations are removed immediately after Christmas Eve. Everyone is busy and there is no way that one  person can visit all of them. Don’t worry though, there is plenty of time to see more glittering lights on the most romantic day of the year. And also, in between Christmas and Valentine’s Day.

Illuminations TokyoOmohara Forest

Small and dimly lit at night, this location is one of the most attractive spots for younger couples. Next to Starbucks, you may not have much privacy or even a place to sit. Moreover, if you decide to buy a coffee to warm yourself up, the long line may scare you away!

Nevertheless, viewing Omohara Forest illuminations before eating at bills is obligatory. Some girls visit because it appeared in a recent drama From “5 to 9”. One of the characters, Junko-san often ate her homemade rice balls here.

Tokyo Dome Winter Illumination

More into Sci-Fi? Head to Tokyo Dome City: The main illuminations hardly change over the years, but the place still looks fantastic!

Shinjuku Mylord Mosaic Stage

The passage that connects the West and East exits of Shinjuku Station is a popular place for taking photos over the Christmas season. While some of the illuminations last only until December 25, this one remains and will also make your Valentine’s Day way more romantic!

Caretta Illumination

You might have heard about Canyon d’Azur but decided to skip it because of its small size (as my husband did). However, it is one of the best illuminations I have seen so far. The show is fantastic and is about Cinderella and the ball. Its simply magical!

Venus Fort Christmas Projection Mapping

Technically this is not an illumination  but a projection mapping. Although it is the least impressive attraction among those listed here, I recommend visiting it if you are already in Odaiba. Lights are projected onto the ceiling.
