Casual Mexican restaurant Guzman y Gomez in Laforet Harajuku

Exploring Omotesando-Harajuku area always requires much energy. You need to eat something to keep you going all day, and Mexican food seems like a perfect choice. Taqueria Guzman y Gomez, or simply GYG can satisfy your craving for something spicy, but will not make your mouth burn (unless you voluntarily choose it).

Classic burritos and burrito bowls, tacos, nachos, enchiladas, quesadillas, churros and, of course, Mexican beer – all that goodness is waiting for you on the second floor of Laforet.Guzman y GomezRecently casual Mexican food is getting more and more popular in Tokyo, with new restaurants popping up here and there like mushrooms after the rain.Guzman y GomezI was very careful and didn’t even try to order anything with “SPICY” mark. In fact, I chose a beef burrito (850 yen), and it turned out very good and filling. It contained many big, juicy pieces of beef. I was only disappointed by the fact that there were no seats available. I and some other customers had to stand, but at least we could enjoy the view and lively salsa music.Guzman y GomezThis usually happens on weekends. So, if you would like to spend nice time with your friends at Guzman y Gomez, you’d better come early, or visit on weekdays.

If you are not very fond of classic burrito wraps, you can opt for a burrito bowl. All items on menu are available for customization.

After BURRI relocated from Jingumae to Azabu-Juban, Guzman y Gomez is my best place for burritos in the area.Guzman y Gomez
